ABOUT
BODY LOVE YOGA
There is a brilliance that already exists within each of us. As a teacher I am here to help guide you to this place of discovery and strength.
After graduating from UC Davis in 2010, I recieved my 200 and 300 hour Power Vinyasa trainings through Julia McCabe Yoga, as well as Trance Dance training with Shiva Rae and Lotus Flow advanced sequencing with Kate Duyn Cariati.
I teach to all levels with the intention of taking you past your previous limitations in a powerful but light-hearted way.
MY LIFE & YOGA
There are some things in life that you simply experience and then move on. There are other things that move you profoundly. For me, this was yoga. I grew up in Nashville, TN attending modern dance classes in between busy nights at our family owned and operated pizza joint. As a child, body movement called to me, showing me its natural ability to draw out one’s innate creativity and allow freedom through shifting energy.
In 1996, mom packed us up and drove us across country to the Golden State landing in the extremely rural mountains of Northern California where city lights had turned to star-filled nights. Senior year of high school something shifted. I was motivated by a lifelong girlfriend to attend my very first yoga class as a way to shape up for prom! Go figure! Upon leaving that first class I was faced with a feeling of emotional relief that I had never felt so deeply as well as physical shifts in my body that came later and were previously unimagined.
In 2012, at the age of 26, I attended Julia McCabe’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Banderas Bay, Mexico that forever changed my life, my perspective, and my ability to respond to the fluctuations we all experience as human beings. Although I had spent periods of my life participating in intense exercise and various forms of dance, nothing had moved me so completely as the practice of yoga. From deep within, all the way to the surface and beyond, there was no aspect of this life that yoga did and does not touch upon. Cleansing the body through movement and breath, opening into the places of yourself that have fallen cold, learning to respond rather than react, I found the results of yoga’s offerings beyond that of simple movement or strength training.
I have discovered that yoga offers a comprehensive package. It is a pathway to freedom through soul connection and the acceptance available through living by the love in our hearts. Meanwhile the body’s physical response to balance is inevitable and incredible! I proceeded to attend numerous workshops, and continue to do so, completing my 300 hour advanced training in 2014 through Julia McCabe Yoga in the jungles of Bali, Indonesia as well as my Trance Dance training with Shiva Rae in Venice, CA.
From Arcata, CA to Venice Beach, I have created space to teach no matter the circumstance, the past 4 years representing the start to a lifelong exploration as a teacher and forever a student of this ancient practice.
Today it remains my mission to offer the gift of yoga to others, giving all people the opportunity to ignite their power and in turn find balance and strength within life’s daily cycle.
